STATEMENT FROM NEW YORKERS FOR CLEAN AIR ON GOVERNOR HOCHUL’S FY 2027 EXECUTIVE BUDGET
“We appreciate Governor Hochul’s continued focus on clean air, public health, and long-term investments that support a more sustainable and affordable energy future for New York. However, we are disappointed that this year’s Executive Budget did not renew the funding for the Sustainable Future Program, which supports projects that improve air quality, create union jobs, help energy affordability, and invest in the infrastructure that helps communities across the state thrive. With the federal government rolling back climate and clean energy investments, now is the time for New York to step up.
“We urge the Legislature to build on last year’s $1 billion foundation by including continued investment in their one-house budgets to protect public health, strengthen local economies, and help New York affordably meet its clean air and climate goals.”
